Many people who seek therapy are experiencing some degree of difficulty in their lives and are having that uncomfortable "stuck" feeling.

We all get to that place and most of us arrive there more than once.  Friends and family may offer well meaning suggestions but being so close to the situation that they are not able to be objective. Sometimes their help may create a sense of irritation in a time of confusion.

If you are in a place like this, it is courageous and sensible to seek help from a professional.

You may explore several options before settling on the person or type of help that suits you.  That is also commendable.

One size does not fit all.  Therapy requires a real level of trust to be useful to you.  Shop for your therapist.  Never just settle for the first one you find. You are looking for a life affirming experience and it is most important that you find your own true guide.

Know that the search is worth the the effort and, in fact, as you do this search the therapeutic process has already begun for you. Healing commences the very moment the willingness to get help occurs. It is an inside job, and as you look for your therapist, you are paying attention to your own insides and giving yourself the message that you matter and deserve the best.

And you do!
